<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for suppressing color transfer to an object to be sterilized contained in a bag for sterilization and color fading. <P>SOLUTION: The material 15 for suppressing color fading and color transfer of a sterilization indicator forms an inner wall of the bag 10 for sterilization into which the object 18 to be sterilized is inserted. The material is layered between a covering film 12c which permeates high-pressure steam and ethylene oxide gas which enter the bag 10 for sterilization and sterilize the object 18 to be sterilized and a substrate film 12a which forms an outer wall of the bag 10 for sterilization. The material comprises: a steam sterilization detection indicator ink layer and an ethylene oxide gas sterilization detection indicator ink layer 16 which are both arranged on one side of the substrate film 12a; and a laminate layer 12b which covers these ink layers and is adhered to the covering film 12c. The ethylene oxide gas sterilization detection indicator ink layer contains a mono azo dye which changes in color with ethylene oxide gas suppressing color fading and shown by the chemical formula: X-N=N-Y [where X is a residue of a heterocyclic compound selected from the group consisting of a pyridine ring, a quinoline ring, an isoquinoline ring, a triazole ring, a tetrazole ring, an indazole ring, a thiazole ring, a benzothiazole ring and a thiadiazole ring each including a nitrogen atom to which no atom group is attached and has an electron-donating substituent group; and Y is a coupling component and has at least one type of substituent group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxy group, a sulfo group, an amino group and a group containing fluorine atoms].
