<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight suspension jig capable of effortlessly lifting blade rings of a variety of shapes and sizes, and a method of machining the blade ring. <P>SOLUTION: The suspension jig 100 includes a jig body 102 comprising a pair of bifurcated legs 111, a first contact member 104 fixed to a first leg 112, i.e., one of the pair of bifurcated legs 111, and a feed screw 108 screwed into a through screw-hole 114 formed at a second leg, i.e., the other of the pair of bifurcated legs 111, and a second contact member 106 fixed to the end of the feed screw 108. The jig body 102 is constituted of a bifurcated member 110 comprising a pair of the bifurcated legs 111, and a member 120 to be lifted extending on the bifurcated member 110 and having lifting holes 121.
