<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a division type current transformer that eliminates the need to prepare a plurality of current transformers for different sizes and shapes, and is easily installed in an installation place, and a coil insulation unit constituting the division type current transformer. <P>SOLUTION: The division type current transformer includes a pair of coil insulation units and a set of U-shaped division cores. The coil insulation units each include a case body, a secondary coil held with insulating resin charged in the case body, a secondary terminal which is fitted outside the case body and to which the secondary coil is connected, and gripping metal fittings for gripping a primary conductor, and also has core insertion holes opened in an upper surface and a bottom surface thereof, and the U-shaped division cores are inserted into the core insertion holes from the upper surface side and bottom surface side.
