<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which easily prevents theft of an article fastened with a bolt or a nut, at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A female thread 6a is bored in a fixing object 6. A bolt hole 7a passes through an article 7. The article 7 is placed on the fixing object 6 such that the female thread 6a and the bolt hole 7a are aligned. A bolt 5 is inserted in the bolt hole 7a so as to be screwed with the female thread 6a for fastening of the article 7 to the fixing object 6. A bolt head 5a is capped with a theft prevention tool 1. The inner diameter of a lower introduction portion 3 is larger than the outer diameter of the bolt head 5a, so that the upper portion of the bolt head 5a is easily introduced in the theft prevention tool 1 to the introduction portion 3. The top face of the theft prevention tool 1 is struck by a hammer so that a fitting part 2 with an inner diameter smaller than the bolt head 5a is expanded due to elasticity of a resin. Consequently the bolt head 5a is pressed into the fitting part 2, so that the installation of the theft prevention tool 1 is completed.
