The collector (1) has walls (2, 3) arranged to face each other, and a housing (4) defined between the walls. One of the walls is transparent and directs solar radiation incidence on a side of the wall to the collector. An energy absorption unit is arranged in the housing to absorb energy from the solar radiation. The energy absorption unit comprises a coolant circuit (6) for coolant e.g. glycol-water mixture, which is circulated in a pipe. The pipe is formed with a circular section whose external diameter is 10 mm. Thickness of the pipe is in a range of about 0.8-1.6 mm. An independent claim is also included for a solar energy recovery system.
