An external device of a card reader and a card reader are disclosed, which belong to the communication technical field. In one embodiment, the data in a memory card is automatically transferred to a data receiving device by adding a control module. The control module can be arranged in the card reader and also can be arranged in the external device of the card reader; the external device of the card reader can be arranged between the card reader and the data receiving device. The external device of the card reader and the card reader in this embodiment can automatically transfer the data in the memory card to the data receiving device to provide the user experience. And the embodiment can be improved from the prior card reader and external device without increasing excessive cost.
