<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefinic polymer by which an olefinic polymer (in particular, an olefinic polymer having an alicyclic structure) having a high molecular weight and a narrow molecular weight distribution can be obtained with good productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an olefinic polymer produces an olefinic polymer by polymerizing an olefinic hydrocarbon represented by formula (1) in the presence of a cationic polymerization catalyst, wherein 0.01 to <10 moles of an aromatic hydrocarbon is allowed to coexist with respect to 1 mole of the cationic polymerization catalyst. In the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>to R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>are the same or different and represent H or a 1-4C straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group, and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>represents H or a hydrocarbon group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
