ELECTRONIC APPLIANCE, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic appliance, a liquid crystal display, and a manufacturing method for the same.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display comprises: a first substrate including a base substrate and a film layer formed on the base substrate; a second substrate whose edge part is attached to the first substrate with a sealant, and which faces a side of the first substrate that is provided with the film layer; and a liquid crystal layer filling a sealed space sealed by the sealant between the first substrate and the second substrate. The sealed space includes an effective region located in the center and a dummy region close to the sealant that surrounds the effective region. The total thickness of the film layer of the first substrate formed corresponding to the effective region on the base substrate is smaller than the total thickness of the film layer of the first substrate formed corresponding to the dummy region on the base substrate.
