PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing particulate matters in a diesel engine for ships is provided to maximize the availability of an engine room as the installation space for the apparatus is minimized. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for removing particulate matters in a diesel engine for ships comprises an electric heater for a filter inside An exhaust gas inlet(11) and exhaust gas outlet(12) are formed on both sides of a body, respectively. The body is formed into a cylindrical or square box shape. The electric heater for the filter generates heat, and filters and burns the particulate matters discharged from the diesel engine. The power supply voltage for the electric heater is supplied when power supply voltage detected by a compression sensor exceeds the fixed pressure. The compression sensor is installed in the exhaust gas inlet and outlet, respectively. |
