PURPOSE: A random access apparatus in a wireless communication system and method thereof are provided to reduce overhead according to random access attempts by acquiring a time alignment value for a plurality of serving cells according to one random access procedure. CONSTITUTION: A terminal transmits classification supporting information to a BS(base station)(S500). The BS configures a TAG(timing alignment group) by classifying serving groups(S505). The base station transmits TAG configuration information to the terminal(S510). The terminal executes a random access procedure for the BS(S515). A time forwarding command field controls the uplink time of the serving cells.
