<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of an event in which an appropriate communication cannot be performed due to changing IP address setting methods for a printer. <P>SOLUTION: When an instruction to change an IP address setting method for a printer from DHCP to Static is given in the state where a current IP address of the printer is not changed to another IP address by a user (YES in S32), the printer does not change the IP address setting method for the printer from DHCP to Static (S36 is skipped).
