The metering apparatus comprises a spray tube (50) having an exhaust-gas end that is provided with cylindrical lateral recessed grooves. The cylindrical lateral recessed grooves are connected together with an inner wall of the lance casing channels. The lateral channels are incorporated in the exhaust-side end face of the spray tube swirl channels that are opened into a cylindrical swirl chamber provided with a running injection hole. An independent claim is included for method for metering fuel and/or adjuvant.
