<p>Disclosed are a fault detection method and device which belong to the network communication technology. The technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention include the following steps: firstly, a Network Management System (NMS) receives node information separately reported by multiple nodes on a Label Switch Path (LSP) in a Multiple Protocol Label Switch-Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) network, wherein said node information is reported by the multiple nodes on the LSP through management plane, or through management plane and data plane after the multiple nodes receive LSP path detection messages through the data plane, and the node information includes a node Identity (ID); then the NMS determines the path fault of the LSP based on path information of the LSP maintained by the NMS in advance and the received node information of the multiple nodes. With the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention, the blind spot in path detection and positioning, which is caused by the abnormal performance of the Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM) function in the prior art, is avoided, and thus the operation and maintenance of the network are more convenient and accurate.</p> |
