The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing high-molecular-weight siloxane oligomers containing a small amount of cyclics. An embodiment of the present invention is a method for producing siloxane oligomers which is characterized by using a 2-hydroxycarboxylic acid compound represented by a predetermined formula as a catalyst and subjecting an alkoxysilane to hydrolysis and condensation. With this production method, it is possible to synthesize high-molecular-weight siloxane oligomers with a low content of siloxanes having cyclic structures.
