<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of projecting a high quality image in a whole projection image. <P>SOLUTION: A projector includes a storage part 28 storing frame data having a lattice-shaped pattern, a projection part 34 projecting the frame onto a projection surface so that a frame based on the frame data almost coincides with the edge part of a projection area, a photographing part 24 photographing the frame projected onto the projection surface, a field angle adjustment part 42 adjusting a photographic field angle so that the edge part of a photographic area almost coincides with the frame, a correction value calculation part 20 calculating the correction value of the projection image on the basis of photographic data including the lattice-shaped pattern in the frame photographed by the photographing part 24 at the photographic field angle adjusted by the field angle adjustment part, and a correction part correcting the image data of the projection image on the basis of the correction value.
