摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional (3D) video display device on which a natural sense of depth can be reproduced by emphasizing a sense of depth at a front side without excessively allocating a depth range to a background area. <P>SOLUTION: A 3D video display device comprises a depth information generating unit 11 which generates a depth value from an input image, a depth adjusting unit 12 which adjusts the depth value and generates an adjusted depth value, an image generating unit which generates a right-viewpoint image and a left-viewpoint image from the input image and the adjusted depth value, and an image display unit 14 which displays a 3D video image on the basis of the right- and left-viewpoint images. The depth adjusting unit 12 weights a frequency of each depth value in accordance with the depth value to determine weighted histograms of the depth values, and uses a weighted cumulative histogram obtained from the histograms to adjust the depth values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
