<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a faded image with deteriorated saturation to a vivid image without requiring a user operation. <P>SOLUTION: In an image processing device for processing input image data, a color fading detection unit detects image data whose saturation is lowered by previously applied processing based on distribution of pixels of the image data in a color space having at least hue and saturation coordinate axes, and a saturation correction unit corrects the saturation of the detected image data.
