<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of performing preview operation before reading. <P>SOLUTION: A reading device 1 includes a device main body 10 including a first surface 11 of a transparent material, disposed near a reading object 2 to face it and a second surface 12 of a transparent material, disposed apart from the first surface 11 on the opposite side. The device main body 10 is configured such that the reading object 2 is visible over the first surface 11 and the second surface 12. The reading device 1 detects a contact operation to the second surface 12, and according to the detection result, recognizes an area range of the second surface 12 specified by the contact operation to the second surface 12. Also, a touch panel is disposed on the second surface 12 for desired display and controlled to display the area range. Further, a scanner unit 25 is provided for reading an image R recorded on the reading object 2, through an area in the first surface 11 corresponding to the area range, to generate image information corresponding to the image R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
