<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video processing apparatus and a video processing method capable of suitably providing a viewer with a demonstration mode. <P>SOLUTION: The video processing apparatus is provided with: a sensor module 121 which recognizes the existence of a person; a video processing module 32 which outputs a demonstration video relating to functions of the apparatus; and a control module 35 which when the sensor module 121 recognizes the existence of a person, controls the video processing module to start the output of the demonstration video.
