The joint has hinge arms (1,2) which are connected with their ends in overlapping manner such that an angle is formed between the arms to cause rolling and sliding movement in the plane defined by the arms. The hinge arms are engaged with each other by inserting the guide element (5) of the hinge arm (2) with the curve section (3) of the hinge arm (1) during the bending of the arms, while maintaining an angle of 25[deg] between the arms. An independent claim is included for knee orthosis.
