A reconfigurable vehicle partition 10 for compartmentalising a space within a vehicle is disclosed. The partition comprises a frame 11 which is arranged to extend within an interior of the vehicle and which is arranged to support a gate 12, the gate comprising a plurality (12a, 12b, 12c figure 6) of pivotally interconnected panels which are reconfigurable between a folded gate configuration and an unfolded gate configuration. The gate is arranged to pivot with respect to the frame between a closed configuration in which the gate extends substantially within the frame to partition the vehicle, and an open configuration, in which the gate extends out of the plane of the frame. In the closed configuration, the gate is arranged to extend across the frame in a substantially folded configuration, and in the open configuration the gate is arranged to extend out of the plane of the frame in the unfolded configuration to provide a ramp access (figure 6) into and out from the vehicle. The gate may be used as a ramp when loading a boot or trunk of the vehicle, for example in assisting a dog to climb into the vehicle.
