ELECTROMAGNETIC CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE FOR PRODUCING SILICON INGOT

PURPOSE: An electromagnetic continuous casting apparatus for producing a silicon ingot is provided to reduce capital expenditures of the silicon ingot by limiting a height of a heat resistant member supporting the silicon ingot. CONSTITUTION: A bottomless crucible(3) uses an induction coil(2) and a plurality of plasma arc torches(10) as a heating source. A source inlet(11) injects a silicon material(5) into the bottomless crucible. The plasma arc torch is arranged in the upper portion of the bottomless crucible. A connecting member(15) is connected to a heat resistant member(7) in order to be downwardly extended from the heat resistant member. A taking out device(18) moves the heat resistant member to the top and bottom.
