FIELD: machine building. ^ SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to sealing equipment and is intended to be used in devices preventing the working medium leakage. Tight assembly method involves the following operations: arrangement at least of one sealing device (1) at least in one groove (10a, 10b) of shaft-shaped element (2) and installation of at least one above mentioned shaft-shaped element (2) into through hole (17) of housing (3a). In housing (3a) there is at least one constriction (12, 13). The above sealing device (1) arranged at least in one above mentioned groove (10a, 10b) so that tight sealing is provided between housing (3a) and shaft-shaped element (2) is passed through constriction (12,13) during installation. Sealing device (1) has slot (1a) that can be expanded without essential elongation of sealing device (1) prior to its being arranged in the above groove (10a, 10b) using any appropriate method, for example by means of axial or radial installation.
