PURPOSE: An acrylic binder resin for color filter with hydroxy group and amide group is provided to increase pigment affinity and to enhance solubility and dispersibility for solvent. CONSTITUTION: An acrylic binder resin for color filter comprises recurring units represented by chemical formula 1. Here, R1-R4 are respectively -H or -CH3. R5 is -COOH, -CONH2, or a mixture thereof, and R6 is one or more mixture selected from -COOH, -COOCH2CH2COOH, -COOCH2CH2OCOCH2CH2COOH. R7 is - CONHC (CH2OH) 3, -CONHCH2CH2 C (CH2OH) 3 or a mixture thereof. And R8 is more than one or two selected from -COOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH3, -COOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH3, -COOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH(CH2CH3)CH2CH2CH2CH3, -COOCH2CH2OCH3, -COOCH2CH2OCH2CH3, -COOCH2CH2O-Ph, 1-a functional group of chemical formula 1, -COO-(CH2CH2O)nCH3, -COO-(CH2CH2O)n-CH2CH3, -COOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OR9, -COOCH2CH2OR10. If the sum of x, y and z are assumed to 100 mole%, the sum total of x and y is 50-85 mole%, and Z and w is 15-50 mole%.
