Provided is a geometric transformation lens capable of geometrically transforming a subject image into the desired form while achieving reduced size and energy use. Even when another subject, of which a detailed view is desired, is present in the imaging field, rather than using a motor or other large-scale movement mechanism to move a lens itself, the desired portion of a captured image can be optically enlarged merely by applying a magnification command voltage (V2,mn) to a predetermined enlarging/reducing electrode (EL2,mn) in liquid crystal lenses (20a, 20b, 20c, 20d) used for the geometric transformation lens. There is therefore no need for a space to accommodate installation of a mechanical movement mechanism for moving a lens, or a space for moving the lens itself, as in the conventional technique, and size and energy use can accordingly be reduced. |
