<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an optical film, the method capable of reducing depolarization, even in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for the optical film using an aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive. <P>SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an optical film includes step (1) of applying an aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive on a support substrate and step (2) of heating the applied aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive, wherein the heating step (2) includes at least one high temperature heating step (A) having the heating temperature of 50 to 200°C.
