PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an optical film, the method capable of reducing depolarization, even in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for the optical film using an aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive.

SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer for an optical film includes step (1) of applying an aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive on a support substrate and step (2) of heating the applied aqueous dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive, wherein the heating step (2) includes at least one high temperature heating step (A) having the heating temperature of 50 to 200°C. The high temperature heating step (A) satisfies Z=650 to 27,000 where the heating temperature of the high temperature heating step (A) is X (°C), the heating time is Y (minutes), and Z=X×Y.
