The device (1) has partial tools (5) i.e. folding dies, arranged at movement manipulators (4.1-4.4) i.e. blank holders, such that a workpiece (6) is received and/or transported into a workspace (7) and/or machined in the workspace by the tools. A position of the workpiece is changeable during receiving and/or transporting the workpiece into the workspace, machining the workpiece in the workspace and/or assembling the workpiece, based on a change in function of the manipulators with respect to each other. The manipulators are controlled and/or regulated by a common control unit (2). An independent claim is also included for a method for processing and/or assembling a workpiece by using a processing and/or assembly device.
