<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coke oven in which internal pressure of a collecting pipe and a carbonization chamber is controlled even when a large amount of gas is sucked from the carbonization chamber toward the collecting pipe, and which is stably operated, and to provide a method of operating the coke oven. <P>SOLUTION: The coke oven includes one collecting pipe 30A connected with a plurality of carbonization chambers 10 and the other collecting pipe 30B connected with a plurality of carbonization chambers 10, wherein one opening adjusting means 34A to adjust opening of one offtake pipe 32A is installed in the one offtake pipe 32A connected with the one collecting pipe 30A, the other opening adjusting means 34B to adjust opening of the other offtake pipe 32B is installed in the other offtake pipe 32B connected with the other collecting pipe 30B, and a linking tube 40 to link the one collecting pipe 30A and the other collecting pipe 30B with each other is installed between the one collecting pipe 30A and the other collecting pipe 30B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
