<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pattern recognition result with higher reliability. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern recognition device extracts a plurality of pieces of partial data from input data, calculates similarity degrees between the respective pieces of extracted partial data and corresponding pieces of partial data in registered data registered in advance, and converts the respective calculated similarity degrees into a plurality of converted similarity degrees by using learned parameters.
