<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer recording medium with which high density recording can be performed, and a multilayer recording method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an almost disc-shaped multilayer recording medium 10 and a multilayer recording method thereof, the multilayer recording medium 10 which includes a land groove structure having groove parts 21 being groove bottom parts 21 and land parts 22 being top surface parts 22, and is compatible with a microhologram type high density multilayer recording system or like.
