<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively and efficiently removing tar in a coal gas discharged in the manufacture of char with a low volatile content by heating low-grade coal. <P>SOLUTION: The method for decomposing tar in a coal gas comprises a step of manufacturing char and a coal gas by heating low-grade coal by a heated gas, and a step of decomposing tar in the coal gas by causing the coal gas to react with iron ore containing at least 5 mass% of a crystal water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
