<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device capable of avoiding the collision between a switch body and an operation key. <P>SOLUTION: In a switch device 11, a movable body 17 having an operation key 18 is received by a receiving part 24 if a slide door 13 swiftly advances toward a closed position. More specifically, the movable body 17 is received by a projection 24 of a bracket 19 provided separately from a head part 23. As a result, the advancement of the operation key 18 is restricted. The movement of the operation key 18 toward a switch body 16 is restricted. The collision between the operation key 18 and the switch body 16 can be avoided reliably. In this instance, the impact of collision between the movable body 17 and the receiving part 24 is absorbed by an elastic body 34.
