The tongs (1) have two parts (4,5) connected via a joint (6). Both tong sections have a device (7) to lock them together. The unit is releaseable and consists of two interlocking shapes (8,9), one on each tong part. Each shape has elastically restorable locking teeth (10). The tongs have a holder (16) for the necks (15) of two tubes (2,3) engaging on each other.
