PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a stapled position even if curl or deflection is formed at a sheet end, when performing staple processing or the like with sheets stacked.

SOLUTION: A sheet pressing device for pressing a sheet bundle on a stapling tray includes: an elastic bent member P4 that is extended in a width direction of the sheet bundle to be pressed; and a bracket Bk and a motor M1 that allows the bent member P4 to contact with and separate from the sheet bundle. The bent member P4 is extended beyond a sheet width of a maximum sheet size. Both ends of the bent member are attached to the bracket Bk, and a portion corresponding to the center of the sheet in a width direction protrudes the closest to the sheet, in which portion a recess part P4a is provided to avoid interference with a removal claw H1.
