<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarization film, using a PVA based polymer film, which enables the manufacture of a polarization film having high limit stretching ratio and excellent optical performance without fracturing even when uniaxially stretching at a high magnification, as a raw fabric film. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a polarization film, using a PVA based polymer film satisfying the following formulas (I) and (II) or a PVA based polymer film satisfying the following formulas (I)-(III) as a raw fabric film, dyeing, uniaxial stretching, fixing processing and dry processing are performed, with the formula (I): Δn(MD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>-0.1×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>≤Δn(TD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>≤Δn(MD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>+0.25×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>, (II): Δn(TD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>≤2.5×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>, and (III): 1.3×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>≤Δn(MD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>≤2.0×10<SP POS="POST">-3</SP>(where, Δn(MD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>is a value obtained by averaging birefringence in a machine flow direction of the PVA based polymer film in a film thickness direction, and Δn(TD)<SB POS="POST">Ave</SB>is a value obtained by averaging birefringence in a width direction of the PVA based polymer film in a film thickness direction.) <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
