<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip PTC thermistor which is hardly reduced in resistance even when flux is deposited thereon, and thus can obtain desired characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A chip PTC thermistor (1) comprises: a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped ceramic element body (2); first external electrodes (13, 14) formed at end surfaces (5, 6) of the ceramic element body (2); and second external electrodes (15, 16) formed so as to cover surfaces of the first external electrodes (13, 14) and part of side surfaces (3, 4) of the ceramic element body (2). The ceramic element body (2) has two outer regions (2b, 2c) which are in contact with the end surfaces (5, 6) respectively, and an inner region (2a) sandwiched between the two outer regions (2b, 2c).
