PURPOSE: A monitoring system is provided to automatically extract an object to be monitored and to classify the kind of the object by extracting topographical information through a monitoring image of a first monitoring part and a second monitoring part. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring system comprises a first monitoring part(MFP), a second monitoring part(PTZ), a topographical map creating part(10), an object data generating part(20), and a controller(30). The topographical map creating part creates a topographical map in around the first monitoring part and the second monitoring part using a first monitoring image and a second monitoring image. The object data generating part generates object information using the location of an object according to the topographical map when the object is acknowledged through the first monitoring image.
