PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for storing data by searching the data from an SIM(Subscriber Identification Module) in a portable terminal are provided to offer the stored data to a user by terminating the storage of data related to one or more identification modules. CONSTITUTION: A first identification module(200) is determined as a master module. A second identification module(210) is determined as a slave module. When the power source of a portable terminal(100) is turned on, a control apparatus(110) extracts data from the first identification module. The control apparatus stores the extracted data in a work memory unit. When the data is stored in the work memory unit, the control apparatus controls the second identification module to connect to the stored data.
