<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide 8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane compounds as μ opioid receptor antagonist. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides novel 8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane compounds of formula (I): wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, A, and G are defined in the specification, or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt or solvate thereof, which are antagonists at the μ opioid receptor.
