NEW BACTERIUM BELONGING TO GENUS FLAVOBACTERIUM, ENZYME PRODUCED BY THE SAME BACTERIUM AND DEGRADING ALGINATE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING OLIGOSACCHARIDE, UNSATURATED MONOSACCHARIDE OR α-KETO ACID BY USING THEM, NEW ENDO TYPE ALGINATE LYASE AND GENE ENCODING THE SAME ENZYME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new bacteria belonging to the genus Flavobacterium, enzymes produced by the same bacteria and degrading alginates, a method for producing oligosaccharides, unsaturated monosaccharides or α-keto acids by using them, a new endo type alginate lyase having approximately 30 kDa molecular weight and characteristics capable of degrading any of the M block, G block, MG block and alternate polymer similarly, and a gene encoding the same lyase.

SOLUTION: The bacteria belonging to the genus Flavobacterium producing degrading enzymes capable of degrading the alginate to be able to produce unsaturated monosaccharides, α-keto acids and uronic acid are provided by including the bacteria belonging to the genus Flavobacterium having 16S rDNA showing ≥98% homology to a base sequence described in SEQ ID NO: 1. Thus, the monosaccharides (the unsaturated monosaccharides, α-keto acids and uronic acid) originated from the alginate, which can not be obtained by the marketed alginate lyase, can be obtained.
