<p>A green light from a solid-state light source (1G) and a red light from a solid-state light source (1R) are illuminated upon a display element (5) via a common light path. A green light from a solid-state light source (2G) and a red light from a solid-state light source (2R) are illuminated upon a display element (6) via a common light path. A blue light from a solid-state light source (1B) is illuminated upon a display element (7). A control unit (10) lights the solid-state light sources (1G, 1R) on a time division basis, displaying an image based on a video signal (S1) upon the display element (5) while the solid-state light source (1R) is lit, and displaying an image based on a video signal (S2) upon the display element (5) while the solid-state light source (1G) is lit. The control unit (10) lights the solid-state light sources (2G, 2R) on the time division basis, displaying the image based on the video signal (S1) upon the display element (6) while the solid-state light source (2R) is lit, and displaying the image based on the video signal (S2) upon the display element (6) while the solid-state light source (2G) is lit. The control unit (10) continuously lights the solid-state light source (1B), displaying an image based on a video signal (S3) upon the display element (7).</p> |
