A splice plate for coupling two adjacent ends of two cable ladder units is described, wherein the splice place extend substantially along a first longitudinal axis, the splice plate has a first recess for receiving a cross beam of a first of the two cable ladder units, and a second recess for receiving a cross beam of a second of the two cable ladder units, so that the splice plate impede any movement non-parallel to the first axis between the two cable ladder units when the recesses have received the cross beams.
