PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always keep constant a gripping position for mounting auxiliary device when mounting a center take-off type steering device to a vehicle body. SOLUTION: A rib 712 is formed in a central cylindrical part 71 of a rack boot 70, and utilized as a positioning means to determine a gripping position with respect to a clamp 160. The clamp 160 is forced to grip the center take-off type steering device by taking the rib 712 as a guide, which allows the center take-off type steering device to be gripped in the same gripping position every time. A problem caused by the deviation of the gripping position, for instance, the deterioration of assembling efficiency due to the redirection of the center take-off type steering device to an appropriate vehicle mounting position by eye measure of a worker or the reworking of gripping or the like, is prevented.
