PURPOSE: A device and method for driving an image display device are provided to improve reliability by applying digital content management technique to the image display devices. CONSTITUTION: An image display panel(2) includes a plurality of pixel areas. A data driver(4) generates image signals by decoding coded arrangement data. The data driver supplies the image signals to data lines. A timing controller(8) codes arranged digital image data and generates the coded digital image data.
