The controlling device (10) has a data transmission slip ring (101), an electric motor (5) and a servo controller (103), where multiple bars are arranged on the upper surface of the data transmission slip ring. The controlling device has a signal detector (102) and a processing element (104), where the signal detector is used for the detection of the bars in order to obtain an encoded signal. The processing element is used to determine the real rotational speed and the pipe position of the computer tomography-rotation system on the basis of the encoded signal. An independent claim is included for a controlling method for computer tomography-rotation systems.
