PURPOSE: A short necked clam sorting method using a water tank unit is provided to distinguish dead short necked clams and live short necked clams by using the habitude of the short necked clam without additional manual working. CONSTITUTION: A short necked clam sorting method using a water tank unit(10) is as follows. The water tank unit is prepared. Sand(20) is filled in the water tank unit in a predetermined level. Sand is poured on the short necked clams. Water(40) is supplied in a predetermined level. Dead short necked clams(30') not entering the sand are distinguished. Live short necked clams(30) buried in the sand is collected.
