<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driving device which can adequately set a monitoring time for performing a protection operation according to an abnormality classification, and can perform the protection operation suitable for the abnormality classification. <P>SOLUTION: A load driving device 2 includes a determination section for determining whether one of a plurality of abnormality classifications occurs or not on the basis of a detection result in a current state detection section and a detection result in a temperature state detection section. When the determination section determines that one of the plurality of abnormality classifications occurs, and a continuation of the abnormality reaches a set monitoring time, a control section performs a protection operation with respect to a portion detected by the temperature state detection section.
