<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a movable blade reliably performs stable cutting when cutting a conveyed object without stopping conveyance by a conveyance roller. <P>SOLUTION: A conveying and cutting device includes: a platen roller 26 that conveys a printing tape 3A along a prescribed conveyance path; the movable blade 42 that is disposed along the conveyance path downstream from the platen roller 26, that comes into contact with one side of the printing tape 3A, that has been conveyed along the conveyance path, such contact coming from an orthogonal direction that is roughly orthogonal to a plane that includes the conveyance object printing tape 3A, thereby cutting the printing tape 3A; a discharge roller 17 that is disposed downstream from the platen roller 26 and upstream from the movable blade 42 and that can convey the printing tape 3A; and a brake member 71 that is disposed to be integrally operable with the movable blade 42, and that, when the movable blade 42 comes into contact with the printing tape 3A, comes into contact with the one side of the discharge roller 17 in the orthogonal direction, thereby causing the rotation of the discharge roller 17 to stop. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
