PURPOSE: A radio frequency auto conversion apparatus using a radio text function and method thereof are provided to automatically convert the radio frequency of a car audio system into the recorded frequency of the radio broadcast by receiving the recorded radio broadcast based on the radio text of RDS(Radio Data System) data. CONSTITUTION: A decoder(110) decodes received RDS data into radio text. An analysis unit(120) analyzes the decoded radio text. When a radio broadcast which corresponds to the analyzed radio text in the recorded radio broadcast list is existed, the analysis unit outputs a conversion signal. The conversion signal is a signal for converting the radio frequency into the corresponded radio broadcast frequency. A control unit(130) converts the radio frequency into the corresponded radio broadcast frequency according to the received conversion signal.
