<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of selecting an optimal device driver when an external device is connected to an electronic apparatus, in the apparatus comprising a device driver which is implemented by bytecode. <P>SOLUTION: A device driver selection program retrieves a device driver for each product developed for each external device among bytecode device drivers, prior to a device driver for each type implemented by a binary code when an external device is connected to an electronic apparatus.
